Robbie Savage makes Manchester City title claim after predicting correct score in Burnley victory
Planet Sport ambassador Robbie Savage backs Manchester City to enjoy another historic season after kicking off the Premier League campaign with an emphatic win.
Manchester City will become the first team to win four Premier League titles in a row according to Robbie Savage.
The former Premier League midfielder correctly predicted City to beat Burnley 3-0 in their season opener at Turf Moor.
Erling Haaland scored a brace while Rodri added a third as Pep Guardiola's men gave the newly promoted Clarets an exhibition of excellence.
When asked for his thoughts on the title race, Savage told Planet Sport: "The big question is can City be the first Premier League team to win four [titles] in a row? I think the answer is yes.
"The way Pep Guardiola brings players into that system. They all know what they're doing. Erling Haaland's goals and the creativity of Kevin De Bruyne.
"It is a blow losing Ilkay Gundogan who I thought along with John Stones were two of the best players in Europe in the final two or three months of the season.
"That's a blow, but Mateo Kovacic, what a player he is. Great experience from Real Madrid and Chelsea. Josko Gvardiol has come in who's a very good player as well. They've got so many good players in so many positions. [Jack] Grealish, the season he had. Phil Foden.
"They've lost players, but they've recruited very well. I think whoever finishes above City will win the league, but the answer is nobody's going to finish above City because Pep Guardiola will be the first manager and City will be the first team to win four in a row."
The Cityzens will now turn their attention to Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday. Their next Premier League outing will take place on August 19 when they welcome Newcastle to the Etihad.
