Paul Pogba news: Man City had a sniff but it’s now a shootout between PSG and Juve for midfielder

Paul Pogba - World Cup winners' medal stolen

With Kylian Mbappe and Antonio Rudiger off the board, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is the next big Bosman free transfer who will decide his future.

Speculation has surrounded the France international all season but he is yet to confirm where he will be playing his football in 2022/23.

What we do know is that Pogba is leaving England. He could have stayed at Manchester United, while Manchester City also had a sniff, but the French star is almost certainly heading back to the continent.

But where is Pogba going?

Rudiger is moving to the Spanish capital to sign for Real Madrid and despite Mbappe snubbing them, the La Liga giants are not out of the running to land Pogba. However, it is believed they have others ahead of him in their pecking order, including Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni.

As it stands, it appears that Pogba has narrowed down his options to two - Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. The bookmakers certainly agree, with it generally 6/4 the pair.

Pogba has ties to both Paris and Turin, so it makes for an interesting tug of war between the two clubs.

Paris is Pogba's home town and is somewhere he has never played before, so there is a clear temptation for him to move there for the first time in his playing career.
However, Turin is also somewhere he has a big affinity with having spent the best part of his career to date playing with Juventus. That was under Max Allegri who is back at the club and he is someone Pogba is very close to.
