Newcastle join West Ham and Juventus in race for Jean-Clair Todibo
French defender Jean-Clair Todibo is attracting plenty of attention from clubs around Europe and reports are suggesting that Newcastle have also entered the race for the Nice star.
Earlier this week Sky Sports reported that West Ham had a loan bid with a £26.8 million option to buy accepted from Nice for the 24-year-old, but it is heavily rumoured that the defender would prefer a move to Turin with Juventus still interested but yet to agree a deal.
Reports from Talksport and 90min on Friday morning suggest that Newcastle are making a late move for the centre-half.
It's currently unknown whether the Frenchman would like to make a switch move to Tyneside, but the two-time France international would fit the bill for Eddie Howe, as he looks for a long-term successor for Fabian Schar.
Despite the interest from the Toon, there's no concrete news that they've made a bid, with the Irons and the Old Lady in pole position.
Todibo would be a good fit for a West Ham side who are rebuilding their defence following David Moyes' departure at the end of the season.
Should he make the move to East London, he would join ex-Wolves man Max Kilman in the heart of Julen Lopategui's defence ahead of the new season.
