Mohammed Kudus: West Ham must bounce back against Arsenal

The Hammers' encouraging start to the season has hit the buffers with defeats by Aston Villa, Olympiacos in the Europa League, and Sunday's 1-0 home loss against Everton.

But they have a chance to get those poor results out of their system when the Gunners visit the London Stadium on Wednesday.

"We definitely want to bounce back against Arsenal," Ghana winger Kudus told West Ham TV.

"The good thing is there are a lot of games and we don't have time to be too disappointed.

"The focus now has to be on Arsenal, our next game, and how we do better."

Kudus was handed his first Premier League start against the Toffees following his £38million summer switch from Ajax.

But Dominic Calvert-Lewin's 51st-minute strike condemned West Ham to another defeat.

"It was very disappointing," added Kudus. "We want to win every game, but it's done now and we need to focus on the next game.

"From the start of the game, we knew we were playing against a very compact team. We knew we would have to do more to create a lot of chances, but we didn't manage to do that.

"If you don't score then you need to not concede, but we didn't do that. We need to learn from that and focus on our next game."

Calvert-Lewin's goal, a fine turn and shot from the edge of the area, took him to 50 in the Premier League for Everton with only Romelu Lukaku, Duncan Ferguson and Tim Cahill lying ahead of him.

The 26-year-old has also scored six against West Ham, his most against any single club.

"I thought coming away to West Ham, I always like playing here and I always seem to score, so I had a good feeling coming into the game," he told Everton TV.

"To score 50 Premier League goals for Everton Football Club is a proud moment for me and I am in good company. I know I'm not far off the next one up the list now, so that's my next target."
