RB Leipzig vs Liverpool tips

Liverpool win and both team to score - 2/1

One-goal winning margin - 8/5

Mo Salah to score - 13/10

Liverpool to win and BTTS

We're going to opt for this bet because Leipzig have already lost 3-2 to Juventus and 2-1 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, while the Reds ran out 3-1 winners in Milan on matchday one.

They did shut out Serie A side Bologna last time out, but they don't belong in the same bracket as the aforementioned sides, and they were fortunate not to concede.

The Bundesliga side are doing well domestically, but their defence has never been able to contain the quality of the sides at this level, conceding in their last 12.

One-goal winning margin

That said, it's never easy to go on the ride and win in Europe against a side in the top five leagues. In total, 17 of Leipzig's 25 home games in the Champions League have been decided by one or fewer goals.

Real Madrid, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, PSG and Man Utd have played out games decided by a single goal here, so it's clear the Germans are always competitive.

The Reds played out 11 games with a one-goal winning margin last season and three of those were in Europe. Each of their last two Premier League away matches have also been decided by a single goal.

Anytime goalscorers

Mohamed Salah is the obvious option. The Egyptian scored against Chelsea at the weekend, has found the net in four of five, and boasts a fantastic Champions League record, scoring 10 in his last nine appearances.

Lois Openda is priced as the most likely scorer for the hosts and indeed, he usually rises to the occasion. He found the net in both meetings with Man City last season and fired in 28 goals last season.

However, Sesko has stolen the show in recent weeks. After getting off the mark with a brace in the Bundesliga, he's scored three in two Champions League fixtures.

Liverpool 2024/25 season outrights

Liverpool recorded a third-place finish last season and they’ll be hoping to hit the ground running and go one better under new boss Arne Slot.

There’s so much room for improvement at Anfield that catching up to Man City and Arsenal isn’t unthinkable, but they’ll have to balance Premier League duties with competing on four fronts, including the Champions League.

Liverpool odds to win the Premier League

Liverpool are 4/1 to win the Premier League in 2023/24, making them third favourites behind Manchester City and Arsenal.

They started the season at 7/1, but after an impressive start, where Slot became the first Liverpool manager to win eight of his first nine matches, they dropped to 4/1 and are seriosu title contenders once again.

Can Liverpool win the FA Cup or Carabao Cup?

Liverpool are priced at 9/1 to win the FA Cup and 8/1 to win the Carabao Cup.

The Reds lifted the Carabao Cup in 2022 and 2024, beating Chelsea 11-10 in a penalty shootout, before beating the Blues 1-0 after extra time two years later.

Like all of the big clubs, the defending champions have the squad depth to rotate their way until the latter stages of the competition where much could depend on the draw.

They’ve reached the FA Cup final twice in the previous 18 seasons, meeting Chelsea on both occasions.

Five of their eight domestic cup finals since 2005 have been against the Blues.

Will Liverpool win the Champions League?

You can currently back Liverpool to win the Champions League at 10/1.

They have appeared in three of the last seven Champions League finals, which is the same number as the current holders, and the team that beat them twice, Real Madrid.

Slot’s style will make them a major threat to Europe’s best sides this campaign and the impressive start to the season has seen the outright winners odds slashed from 15/1 at the start of the campaign.

Liverpool top goalscorer

Mohamed Salah is the odds-on favourite to be Liverpool’s top goalscorer this season, building on his tally of 18 league goals in 2023/24.

The Egyptian finished the last seven seasons as the club’s top scorer so it would take a brave man to bet against him.

On the other hand, Darwin Nunez typically takes more shots than Mo Salah, and we have to think that something is going to click this season regards his finishing.

The Uruguayan was guilty of wasteful finishing regularly but that didn’t stop him from finding the net 11 times in 36 appearances. He’s capable of better, so 3/1 at the start of the season certainly appealed.

After one goal in four appearances, it's now as high as 50/1 but still worth a punt for the very brave.
