Leeds United transfer news: Adam Forshaw, Nat Phillips and Sonny Perkins
Planet Sport takes a look at the latest Leeds United transfer news, including Adam Forshaw’s new contract and a potential new signing.
We take a look at the latest breaking transfer news in the world of Leeds United.
Adam Forshaw offered new contract
Despite not being retained at the end of the 2022/23 season, Joel Robles and Adam Forshaw are expected to be in attendance for pre-season.
While the ins and outs of those decisions aren't known, it hasn't taken long for Leeds to perform a U-turn.
The 31-year-old midfielder made 12 Premier League appearances last season but has suffered immensely with a string of injuries.
There's no doubt that Forshaw is a calm and collected ball handler and a number of teams in England are said to be weighing up a move.
According to reports, Leeds have made the decision to try and tie him down again, offering him a new contract on reduced terms.
Leeds interested in signing Nat Phillips
According to The Athletic, Leeds United are interested in signing 26-year-old defender Nat Phillips from Liverpool.
The towering defender is currently under contract until 2025 and would want a fee of up to £10 million, which suggests any deal could be a permanent one.
Despite not being a regular for the Reds, fans have praised Phillips for showings when he's deputised for the likes of Virgin van Dijk.
Phillips has made just 55 senior appearances, a small number for his age, but did help Bournemouth seal promotion during a loan in 2022.
The Liverpool youth product from Bolton must be keen to play regular football approaching his prime and it seems Leeds could benefit.
Sonny Perkins expected to leave on loan
Following the success of loan spells for Charlie Cresswell and Joe Gelhardt last time, it seems Sonny Perkins could tread the same path.
The aforementioned duo spent last season on loan at Millwall and Sunderland are expected to remain at Elland Road this season.
Perkins, 19, joined from West Ham United and has since caught the eye with his goalscoring exploits for the Under 21s.
He scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 20 appearances and also scored and assisted against senior opposition in the EFL Trophy.
The Whites have high hopes for Perkins and there's no question of him leaving on a permanent deal. He'll be back next season.
