Leeds United maintain interest in Rangers box-to-box beast Glen Kamara
Leeds United are yet to officially move for Glen Kamara but he remains a target, according to the latest reports.
Leeds United are still considering a move for Rangers all-action midfielder Glen Kamara, according to reports.
The Finnish international, 27, was identified by Angus Kinnear and Nick Hammond before the arrival of Daniel Farke as an option in the engine room.
The German has since given the move his seal of approval and recent reports suggest personal terms have been agreed by club and player.
However, Graham Smyth of the YEP and Johnny McFarlane of the Rangers Review agree that no official approach has been made, but Smyth did confirm Leeds' interest.
Ethan Ampadu is expected to seal his move to Elland Road in the coming days and it would be a statement of intent if the Rangers man was to join him.
Despite being recognised as a defensive midfielder, Kamara has made 114 appearances in a central role, scoring six times and assisting 11 goals.
Leeds are likely to operate in variations of 4-2-3-1 and Ampadu has been signed to act as the more defence-minded player of the two.
Kamara's time at Rangers has shown he's a calm presence under pressure and always looks like he has time on the ball.
The 5ft 9 Finn is extremely nimble and skilful in tight situations and completed 90% of his passes in the Scottish Premiership last season.
With just 12 months left on his contract and sitting on the fringes at Ibrox, it seems likely Rangers will opt to sell this summer.
They'll make a handsome profit having bagged him for just £50,000 in 2018 with a steal of a fee in the region of £5 million being rumoured.
Leeds are expected to move for at least five more targets in this window including midfield reinforcements.
