In a press conference, Getafe president Angel Torres provided a positive evaluation of the club's 2023 journey, emphasizing a commitment to stability and progress.

Torres shared, as quoted by MARCA, "It's about believing in what you're doing; that's the foundation. Since the day I arrived, I was clear about it."

Recalling standout moments from the past year, Torres highlighted the promotion in Tenerife, the intense match against Bayern Munich, and a memorable turnaround against Barcelona, stating, "There are moments that are unbeatable, and we need to relish them."

Looking ahead to 2024, Torres expressed optimism about a historic year, calling for injury-free seasons. He emphasized the competitiveness of Getafe, stating, "We have a good team that will improve. We'll be competing until the last moment with four or five teams. It's challenging, but I think we can make it."

Discussing potential reinforcements, Torres mentioned the possibility of Ilaix Moriba joining, emphasizing a strategic approach, "First, we'll reinforce the midfield, and if possible, sign someone for the wing to complete the squad. Nothing more. We won't go crazy."

Addressing transfer possibilities, Torres acknowledged ongoing negotiations, stating, "In football, nothing is impossible. We're working on four or five very advanced things. One or two reinforcements will arrive, always with the coach's agreement."

Regarding potential departures, Torres asserted a cautious stance, saying, "No. I think we shouldn't touch the squad. If someone has the opportunity to leave and asks us, we'll help. But the club doesn't intend to let anyone go."

Responding to inquiries about Borja Mayoral's departure, Torres remarked on the economic feasibility, stating, "With the release clauses, it's not economically feasible. It's a project to go as far as possible. In a previous interview, I mentioned that the team would be between the eighth and twelfth positions. So far, it's happening."

Getafe's president reflects on a positive 2023, anticipates a promising 2024, and strategically eyes reinforcements to bolster the squad for upcoming challenges.
