Ben Chilwell move to Man Utd could see Jadon Sancho loaned to Chelsea
Manchester United have reportedly intensified discussions over a potential move for Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell before the transfer window closes this Friday.
This move comes in response to United's injury crisis at left-back, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both side-lined.
Chilwell, who joined Chelsea from Leicester City in 2020 for approximately £45million, has played 106 times for the Blues, scoring nine goals. However, he is not in the plans of Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca.
In a surprising twist, Chelsea are considering taking Jadon Sancho on loan as part of a swap deal.
Sancho, who has struggled to find consistent form since joining Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund for £73million three years ago, may be on his way out after falling out with United manager Erik ten Hag.
Last season, Sancho was sent back to Dortmund on loan for the second half of the campaign.
The potential Chilwell-Sancho loan swap would be a separate transaction from any possible deal involving Raheem Sterling, another Chelsea player who has been linked with Manchester United.
With Chelsea not short on wide players, Sancho's potential move to Stamford Bridge would raise questions about his role in the team.
