Barcelona news: Free scoring Robert Lewandowski joins Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr in stat books

Robert Lewandowski scores for Barcelona against Cadiz

Robert Lewandowski came off the bench and put on a scintillating display as Barcelona beat Cadiz 4-0.

The match was delayed by almost an hour due to a medical emergency in the stands after a fan suffered a suspected heart attack.

Cadiz players Jeremias Ledesma and Jose Mari were quick to react as they helped the medical team get a defibrillator and a stretcher to the supporter who was later taken to hospital.
Cadiz president Manuel Vizcaino later announced that the fan's condition was stable.
On the field, it was Barcelona who overcame a frustrating first-half display before turning on the style in the second.
Once again, it was Polish international Robert Lewandowski who played a major role after coming off the bench.
The player not only got on the scoresheet, but also produced two assists on a victorious night for Barcelona.
Frenkie de Jong, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele were the other goalscorers as Barca ended the night top of the La Liga table.
The match also marked a major milestone for Lewandowski, who became the fifth Barcelona player since 2009 to score in five straight matches. The Pole joined Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar Jr and Pedro.
Lewandowski has now scored nine goals in his last five games across all competitions - his best return since September 2021.
The striker has also scored six goals in five La Liga games, which makes him the fastest player to reach that number in the Spanish top tier since the start of the 21st century.
