Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez: Alejandro Balde is a 'tremendous' talent

Barcelona secured a 2-1 victory against Real Betis in La Liga on Wednesday, thanks in part to the brilliant performance of young star defender Alejandro Balde.
The 19-year-old has exploded onto the scene this season, winning a place in the Spanish World Cup squad and solidifying his role as the undisputed starter for Barcelona.
"He was a constant threat down the left, dealing well with Luiz Henrique," said Xavi Hernandez after the game.
"His potential is tremendous, in defence and in attack. He gives us superiority when he drives forward and we encourage him to continue like this. He is a full-back and winger at many points."
Balde was responsible for the opening goal of the game with a perfectly placed ball across the box for Raphinha.
He also created another excellent chance for Pedri, showing his ability to not only defend but also contribute to the offense.
"He is performing at a very high level," said Xavi Hernandez, glowing with pride. "We are lucky to have a player like Alejandro Balde in our club."
