Nathan Young-Coombes is an English professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Premier League side Brentford.
The Englishman moved as a youth player from Chelsea to Scottish Premier League side Rangers aged 16 and managed to break through to the first team squad.
Now, the forward finds himself in the ranks at Brentford as he attempts to achieve a place in the starting XI.
Impressive displays at Rangers
Young-Coombes signed for Rangers under-18s in February 2019, arriving there from Chelsea's youth academy.
For the rest of the 2018/19 campaign, the forward played within the youth squads. Young-Coombes' highlight of the year would be his winning goal in the Scottish Youth Cup final.
After going 2-0 up, Rangers found themselves level again against rivals Celtic. However, Young-Coombes' glancing header towards goal found the back of the net to win his first piece of silverware.
From then he would make his first start for the under-18s in the UEFA Youth League during a first round 3-3 draw to Young Boys. His first half equaliser in the second leg however would turn out to be crucial as Rangers went on to win on away goals, drawing 2-2 in the reverse fixture at The Ibrox.
However, the forward could not come to his side's aid against Atletico Madrid as they were knocked out through a 4-0 defeat.
Young-Coombes and Rangers reserves would continue their Challenge Cup campaign in good form, progressing to the semi-final thanks to a Young-Coombes goal, securing a 2-0 win over Wrexham.
In the following 2020/21 campaign, Young-Coombes continued his scoring streak, netting against Brechin City, Queen's Park and East Stirlingshire before the league was again halted due to COVID-19.
Despite Rangers' reserves and under-18s failing to achieve silverware, as well as a lack of game time in 2020/21, Young-Coombes made a magnificent effort during his first full season, and it seemed his form caught the eye of Premier League newcomers Brentford.
