World Darts Championship 2025: Friday's Final betting tips, prediction, results and TV times

Luke Littler

The PDC World Darts Championship final is upon us as Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen battle it out for darting supremacy.

The biggest sporting party of the year is almost done. The one piece of business remaining is to find out who truly is the best player in the world.

Littler returns to the final for the second successive year. While 12 months ago he was a teenage rookie, looking to produce a sensational upset, he is now the favourite who is determined to silence a legend.

The legend in question is Michael van Gerwen who has won almost every trophy in the sport – including three world titles.

The Dutchman is so good, many people tend to argue he underachieved during his peak years.

Van Gerwen hasn’t performed at his optimal for the last two or three years, bar a few notable spurts of form. However, it’s fair to say that the Green Machine comes into this game during one of those spurts.

Here, we take a closer look at Friday’s big final and pick out some of the best bets along the way.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Day 16 match schedule

Final

Friday, January 3 – begins at 7pm

Luke Littler vs Michael van Gerwen

Luke Littler 180s under 22.5 – 5/6

Luke Littler has been a 180 hitting machine at these World Championships but hitting 22 or more would require a really special performance.

Not to say that Little is not capable of delivering such numbers, but with the added pressure of the world championship final, the £500,000 of prize money at stake and the fatigue that comes with such a long event, it’s hard to envisage 22 or more maximums from one man.

Littler scored 180 thirteen times during last year’s final with Luke Humphries which he famously lost 7-4.

The Nuke bagged 13 maximums against Stephen Bunting in his 6-1 win and 14 in the previous round victory over Callan Rydz.

With those number in mind, we’re backing Littler to hit under 22.5 180s at around the even money mark.

Over 10.5 sets – 4/6

Over 10.5 sets means that the biggest potential margin of victory is a 7-4 scoreline.

This is a bet which has landed in the last three finals, with Van Gerwen and Little appearing in one each.

Considering how dominant both men were in the semi-finals, all signs point to a close final encounter. With that in mind, we’re sticking with the over 10.5 sets bet at around 4/6.

Luke Littler to win the match – 2/5

If you push us for a winner, we have to go with Littler.

It’s not an easy decision, but with Littler averaging over 100 in four of his five matches at this tournament, how can you possibly bet against him.

Michael van Gerwen is a dangerous opponent, but he isn’t quite at the peak of his powers. He hasn’t been for the last three or so years.

Littler, on the other hand, is on the ascendancy. The pressure of the event and the money at stake doesn’t seem to bother him. Neither does the quality and the level of opposition in front of him.

The Nuke is a hard man to intimidate, and he will be determined to bag his first world title – become the youngest man to ever win the Sid Waddell trophy.

While Van Gerwen will inevitably provide a stern test, we’re backing Littler to make darting history.
