Grand Slam of Darts: Free darts tips, group draw, format, dates, prize money and where to watch
We are on the road to the World Championships but before we arrive at Alexandra Palace, the darting circuit stops in Wolverhampton for the 2024 Grand Slam of Darts.
Luke Humphries heads into the event as the defending champion having claimed the 2023 crown with a victory over Rob Cross in the final.
The Englishman is current favourite with the bookmakers to win his second Grand Slam of Darts title and its easy to see why.
Cool Hand Luke has enjoyed a tremendous year in which he has made four finals from five major ranking events – winning two of them.
If that wasn’t enough, Humphries won the World Cup of Darts, reached the Premier League final and claimed three European Tour tournament wins.
Luke Littler is close behind as second favourite with the bookmakers after an extraordinary breakthrough season.
The teenage sensation claimed the Premier League and World Series of Darts crowns as well as two European Tour titles and three Players Championship tournament wins.
The big challenge for the youngster will be navigating a potentially tricky group which also includes Dimitri Van den Bergh and Keane Barry. If Littler is at his lethal best, he should progress as group winner.
Michael van Gerwen, a three-time winner of the Grand Slam, has also been drawn in a rather interesting group.
A rejuvenated Gary Anderson, Ryan Joyce and Noa-Lynn van Leuven will be looking to halt the Dutchman. Anderson himself is fourth-favourite in the outrights.
Last year’s finalist Rob Cross and Michael Smith are close behind the chasing pack in the betting. Followed closely by fan favourite Stephen Bunting.
The Bullet recently added a baby boy to his family and he will be looking to mark the happy family occasion with a new piece of silverware on the mantelpiece.
