Lando Norris wants to believe McLaren is entering the 'most exciting' phase
Lando Norris is looking forward to experiencing McLaren's ongoing rebuild.
Lando Norris is upbeat about McLaren's future, and expressed that the team is now embarking on the exciting part of the rebuild.
The outfit based in Woking has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent races, rebounding from a sluggish start to the year that prompted uncomfortable inquiries.
This resurgence followed the departure of Andreas Seidl during the off-season. Subsequently, the team bid farewell to its technical director, James Key, with Andrea Stella assuming the role of team principal.
McLaren has been engaged in a continuous rebuilding process, with significant investments in essential infrastructure poised to materialise in the upcoming weeks.
A state-of-the-art simulator is on the horison, and a novel wind tunnel is set to shape the trajectory of the 2024 car, yielding its full advantages by 2025.
Furthermore, a series of fresh appointments, some already in motion and others scheduled to join at the commencement of the next season, have been executed.
"I almost want to believe the most exciting phase," Norris told Speedcafe.
"Now, where are we on that story? It's hard to say because it's been so up and down, but I want to believe we're in the most exciting phase in terms of who we're about to have on board.
"The level of work and companionship we did at MTC on how they tried to develop the car, and their ambition to come up with new ideas - and a lot of that started, I guess since Andrea came in - there's been a big upward trend in vibe and atmosphere development."
