Helmut Marko: Red Bull F1 won't sell AlphaTauri anymore
Red Bull F1 will retain control of AlphaTauri.
Red Bull has made a decision to retain AlphaTauri and keep its Italian base, but will expand its presence in the UK, according to Helmut Marko.
Speculation arose regarding AlphaTauri's future after reports of Red Bull's CEO being dissatisfied with the team's performance.
Marko had previously acknowledged the need for improvement on the track and commercially.
Franz Tost, the team's long-time boss, will be replaced by Laurent Mekies from Ferrari at the end of the season, while Peter Bayer will become the team's CEO.
After careful evaluation, Red Bull has decided against selling the team.
AlphaTauri will continue operating from its Faenza base near Imola, with additional staff being employed at its UK outpost in Bicester.
The expansion aims to enhance synergy with the parent team's aerodynamics department currently located in Bicester.
"The decision has been made. AlphaTauri will remain fully owned by Red Bull and will continue to be run as a junior team," Marko told Formel1.de.
"The cooperation with Red Bull Racing will be closer, also in terms of cost cap and synergies.
"With his know-how, which he has acquired at the FIA, [Bayer] is very important. Of course, this will also flow into Red Bull Racing."
