Fred Vasseur: Ferrari must continue evolving its 'structure'

Fred Vasseur of Ferrari

Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur has emphasised that there is always room for improvement.

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur wants the Italian team to continuously improve and adapt in order to keep up with other Formula One outfits.
Vasseur, who previously led the Alfa Romeo team, assumed his position in Maranello in January following the departure of Mattia Binotto.
One of his primary responsibilities was to bolster the team by making key hires. However, this task became more challenging due to the time-consuming process of recruiting personnel who are bound by gardening leave agreements.
Furthermore, the situation was exacerbated by the departures of two key Ferrari members, race director Laurent Mekies, who is set to join AlphaTauri, and senior design engineer David Sanchez, who is headed to McLaren, creating significant gaps that need to be filled.
Vasseur has already secured the services of Mercedes' performance director, Loic Serra, although his start date is currently projected to be in 2025.
When asked about how close he is to having the team he desires in place, Vasseur emphasized that this endeavor will be an ongoing and never-ending process.
"We are miles away because when you are doing my job you don't have to imagine that there is a perfect structure," he said.
"You always need to improve, and always need to change things. If you stay with the same structure two years in a row then you are dead, because all the others will improve.
"It means that I don't have a clear picture to say I have to do this, and full stop, and it will work. It would be stupid.
"We will make some changes in the coming weeks, in the coming months, in the coming years, because some topics are a bit longer than some others. But it's a permanent evolution and permanent improvement."
