F1 news: Lando Norris hails 'very impressive' Max Verstappen after dominant season
McLaren driver Lando Norris said that Red Bull's Max Verstappen 'was one of the most talented drivers ever' having totally dominated the 2022 Formula 1 season.
Verstappen currently sits with 116 points lead over second-placed Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc in the drivers' standings, with six races remaining.
The Dutchman has won 11 races in his 13 podiums from 16 races, which is an indication of just how he has dominated.
If results go his way this weekend in Singapore, then Verstappen has a shot at winning back-to-back F1 championship's.
Norris, who sits seventh in the standings with 88 points, praised Verstappen's talent in an interview with Sky Sports, and said: "He's done a pretty good job," Norris said, then joked: "He should maybe have a go in our car and see what it's like!"
The 22-year-old Norris added that Verstappen was one of the most talented F1 drivers ever: "He's done amazing [and has been] very impressive. Similar to Lewis in previous years.
"He is one of the most talented drivers ever to come into Formula 1, one of the fastest. No doubt he is going to win his second [title] this year and most likely, he will go on to win a few more in the future," Norris said.
The British driver added that what made the 24-year-old Verstappen so special was that he was competitive in every lap of the F1 weekend including the free practice sessions.
"Even in FP1, FP2, FP3, he's never under the limit, he's always pushing the limits," added Norris.
"Even FP1, the first lap of the whole day, his lap times are normally quicker than what we ever do in qualifying."
