Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber: A bold chapter unfolds in Formula 1 evolution
In a strategic shift, the former Alfa Romeo Formula 1 squad is set to redefine itself as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber for the next two seasons.
With the chassis proudly donning the moniker Kick Sauber C44 in the upcoming season.
Online gambling giant Stake continue as the team's title sponsor, showcasing their commitment to the sport. In a noteworthy development, streaming powerhouse Kick.com have elevated their involvement, securing naming rights to the chassis.
The team's transition away from the Alfa Romeo branding, which adorned their cars from 2019 until the recently concluded season, stems from the acquisition of the Sauber Group by Audi. This ownership shift made it unfeasible for Alfa Romeo to stay in the mix, leading to the non-renewal of their contract.
For the interim seasons of 2024 and 2025, the iconic Sauber name will reclaim the spotlight before the team fully embraces an Audi identity in 2026.
The partnership forged with Stake and Kick.com earlier this year have laid the groundwork for a dynamic collaboration. Kick.com's branding had already made appearances at select races this season, replacing Stake on occasions and even boasting a specially designed livery at Spa.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, representing the Sauber team, emphasized the team's commitment to innovation, stating, "Sauber has always been about innovation, breaking the mould and defying convention. The partnership with Kick.com is the latest and boldest display of the philosophy that drives us."
Kick.com's co-founder, Bijan Tehrani, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the company's growth and its resonance with the fast-paced nature of F1. "Kick's content is fast-paced and engaging, like what we witness every Grand Prix weekend. Just like this partnership, Kick was essentially destined for the racetrack."
Tehrani further expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, vowing to elevate it to an unparalleled magnitude with their motorsport culture knowledge and passion for cutting-edge technology.
As the dust settles on the 2023 F1 season, teams and drivers are gearing up for a well-deserved break. The anticipation for the 2024 season builds, with official F1 pre-season testing slated to unfold at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir from February 23-25, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber.
