Red Bull's triumph in Brazil: Christian Horner reveals secrets to success
Red Bull Racing, under the guidance of boss Christian Horner, have managed to conquer the adversities that plagued their performance in Brazil the previous year.
Their resurgence was evident as Max Verstappen clinched pole position and subsequently dominated both the F1 Sprint and the main race at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
This triumph stands in stark contrast to the events of 12 months ago, when the Red Bull team grappled with difficulties at the Interlagos Circuit. During that trying period, Mercedes claimed victory in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix.
The bitter memories of the past haunted the team as Verstappen and Sergio Perez could only muster sixth and seventh place finishes. The race was marred by internal strife within the team, primarily stemming from the Dutchman's unwavering stance against changing positions with his teammate.
Red Bull's recent success in Sao Paulo marked their 20th win of the season, a testament to their enduring dominance throughout the F1 campaign.
Horner, the man at the helm, shed light on the transformation, saying, "You've got to keep improving in all areas. I think leaving this race last year hurt that our performance wasn't as strong as we would have liked. We felt we didn't get the set-up right.
"And so we came here, we learned the lessons from last year, we applied them, well, we focused the car on the race. In the end, we came away with a pole, the sprint, and the Grand Prix with a third and fourth for Checo. It's been a very strong weekend."
Horner's words highlight the relentless pursuit of perfection and the ability to adapt to past shortcomings that enabled Red Bull to secure their recent victories in Brazil.
As the Formula 1 season unfolds, fans around the world eagerly anticipate the upcoming new Las Vegas Grand Prix, scheduled to take place on the weekend of November 16-18. The event is set to be a spectacle, with a 14-turn street circuit spanning over six kilometres. This racetrack promises high-octane action, with top speeds reaching around 342 kilometres per hour on the lengthy straight along the famous Strip.
This places the Las Vegas Grand Prix in direct competition with the legendary Monza circuit for boasting impressive average speeds, making it a must-watch event on the Formula 1 calendar.
