Pirelli secure exclusive tyre supplier deal in F1 until 2027 despite Qatar Grand Prix challenges
Formula One has announced Pirelli will remain as the grid's tyre supplier until the end of 2027.
The Italian organisation saw off a bid from rivals Bridgestone to extend its relationship as the only tyre provider to 18 years.
Confirmation of the new three-year deal comes just 48 hours after problems with the Pirelli tyres at the Qatar Grand Prix.
The extreme kerbing at the Lusail International Circuit meant the drivers were only able to do 18 laps on a single set of rubber during Sunday's race amid safety concerns.
F1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali said: "Since returning to the sport in 2011 Pirelli has been an invaluable partner, supporting Formula One through new generations of technology and technical regulations and delivering tyres to enable fantastic racing for our fans.
"The company's commitment to quality, innovation and their deep knowledge of our sport will be vital in the coming years as we approach our new regulations in 2026 and the work Pirelli is focused on relating to sustainability will ensure we continue to work together towards our shared Net Zero 2030 goal.
"I would also like to commend Bridgestone for their impressive proposal and engagement throughout the process."
