Max Verstappen dismisses power struggle claims at Red Bull amidst the American Grand Prix buzz

The rumours suggested that Christian Horner, the Team Principal and CEO, was endeavouring to oust Helmut Marko, the Motorsport Advisor. Nevertheless, both Horner and Marko have countered these claims, offering differing perspectives on their roles within the team.

Verstappen, widely recognized as one of the sport's brightest talents, expressed his clear stance on the matter. "From the outside, people are basically trying to talk BS," he remarked during a media interaction. "The mood in the team is very, very good, and everyone knows exactly what their role is."

The controversy stems from speculations that Horner aimed to part ways with Marko, but the Advisor asserted that he would only step back when he deemed it appropriate. While Marko's status as an advisor to Red Bull GmbH and not a direct employee of Red Bull Racing added a layer of complexity to the situation, Horner dismissed these speculations by implying that it was Verstappen himself who preferred his departure over Marko's.

Verstappen emphasized the importance of continuity within the team, particularly in the wake of the first anniversary of founder Dietrich Mateschitz's passing. "It was sad times last year when Dietrich passed away," he acknowledged. "But we have tried to keep that legacy, keep it moving forward, and everyone that we have right now in the team is important to the success that we are having. That is why there are no changes for the future, and I think that basically explains it."

Amidst this internal chatter, Formula 1's popularity in the United States continues to rise. The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is not the sole American host this season. The Miami Grand Prix made a triumphant return in May, and a new event in Las Vegas, scheduled for the weekend of November 16-18, promises a thrilling experience for Formula 1 enthusiasts across the United States.

The reassurance from Verstappen regarding the unity and focus within Red Bull Racing is a testament to the team's commitment to preserving their legacy while striving for continued success in the competitive world of Formula 1.
