Helmut Marko addresses investigation clouding Christian Horner's Red Bull future
As the Formula 1 community gear up for the much-anticipated 2024 season, Red Bull find themself under a shadow of uncertainty.
The recent initiation of an investigation into team principal Christian Horner's 'behaviour' has raised eyebrows and sparked curiosity among motorsport enthusiasts.
Horner, who has steered the Milton Keynes-based team since their F1 debut in 2005, boasts a remarkable legacy as one of the sport's most successful team principals. However, a cloud of ambiguity surrounds the recent allegations against him, prompting an extensive questioning session by an external lawyer last Friday. Despite the lengthy discussions, no definitive outcome has emerged, leaving the nature of the accusations undisclosed.
Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko, when approached about the situation by oe24, remained cryptic, stating, "I cannot tell you that and I cannot say anything else about it. As long as the investigation is ongoing or there is no result, you will not hear from me.
"It is an ongoing process. I hope that we can quickly get the unrest under control."
Despite the off-track uncertainties, Red Bull aim to continue their on-track dominance into the new season. Recalling their exceptional performance last year, winning 21 out of 22 races, the team's focus on the RB20 positions them as favourites for the upcoming campaign.
As the investigation unfolds, the Formula 1 community await the Bahrain pre-season testing, where teams will showcase their potential on the Bahrain International Circuit from February 21-23.
