The two-time Formula 1 World Champion's transition from Alpine to Aston Martin during the winter has sparked a remarkable resurgence for the Silverstone-based outfit. 

Having clinched seventh place in the Constructors' standings last season with a mere 55 points, Aston Martin's fortunes have dramatically shifted, with a recent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix propelling them to a third-place ranking this year, boasting 215 points and trailing second-placed Mercedes by a mere 40.

Discussing Alonso's transformative impact, McCullough conveyed to reporters, "Observing him during his time at Alpine and knowing him from years spent in the paddock, we were already impressed. Yet, working alongside him amplifies that impression."

Alonso's formidable motivation and relentless work ethic have been striking, bolstering his reputation not only as an accomplished driver but also as an exceptional collaborator. McCullough emphasized, "His dedication, his exhaustive preparation, and his discerning inquiries all stand out. He possesses the knack for asking the pertinent questions. Often, we regard drivers as some of the car's most refined sensors, and he unequivocally falls into that category."

McCullough commended Alonso's multitasking prowess and his capacity to focus on myriad aspects of performance, attributing these qualities to the team's advancement. "In a milieu as intricate as ours, replete with data interpretation, correlation, and multifaceted considerations spanning tyres, aerodynamics, and more, he excels in comprehending and aiding our efforts," McCullough asserted.

McCullough lauded the Spanish driver's relentless work ethic and unwavering support even during less competitive times. "Working alongside him has been an absolute pleasure. His unwavering support and fortitude, even during our less stellar performances, underscore his belief in his capabilities within this Championship."

The imminent Italian Grand Prix at Monza marks the next chapter of the Formula 1 season. Renowned as the fastest track on the F1 calendar and often dubbed the "cathedral of speed," Monza, situated just outside Milan, holds a significant place in the sport's heritage. 

It serves as the revered home circuit for the esteemed Ferrari team and is a treasured venue for AlphaTauri, who notably achieved their sole two victories in Formula 1 on this revered track.
