Aston Martin's Tom McCullough stresses focus on current and future Formula 1 cars

Tom McCullough, the Aston Martin performance director, has staunchly affirmed the team's unwavering dedication to progressing both the ongoing season's race car and the forthcoming year's contender.

Aston Martin's performance director Tom McCullough has emphasised the team's unwavering dedication to advancing both this year's car and next season's challenger.
As the ongoing season crosses its midpoint, teams are gearing up to transition their attention from the present campaign to the upcoming machinery, due to the constraints imposed by the budget cap and aerodynamic testing limitations.
Aston Martin are currently engaged in a three-way tussle with Mercedes and Ferrari for the second spot in the F1 Constructors' Championship - a competition in which McLaren is poised to enter.
Fernando Alonso secured six early podium finishes, yet he has been unable to replicate those successes in the last four races of the opening phase. A fifth-place finish at the Belgian Grand Prix has been regarded as a much-needed improvement.
In light of the team's regression since the commencement of the season, efforts will persist in the development of the AMR23.
"We've consistently pursued robust development throughout the year, and we have the budget to sustain car enhancements," McCullough conveyed to the media.
"That's our objective, so we're progressively introducing improvements up until the culmination of the championship, to the fullest extent possible.
"While we will inevitably shift full focus to 2024 at a certain juncture, we're currently in a phase where we can dedicate attention to both cars.
"Moreover, some of the insights gained from '24 can be adaptable as well, be it in CFD, wind tunnel testing, or the mechanical aspects. Our determination is resolute right up to the finish line."
Formula 1 is presently in the midst of a summer hiatus and will reconvene for the Dutch Grand Prix on August 28 at Circuit Zandvoort.
