Eddie Jordan predicts Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso partnership
Ferrari's Carlos Sainz may end up driving alongside his childhood hero Fernando Alonso at Aston Martin in 2025, says Eddie Jordan.
The rumour mill is operating at full capacity in the wake of several shuffles in the paddock for the 2025 season.
With eight-time champion Lewis Hamilton on his way to the Scuderia next year, Sainz is looking for a new home. Former F1 team owner Jordan believes the Spaniard may very well end up alongside his compatriot Alonso.
"Do not be surprised if you see an all-Spanish Aston Martin team next year," said Jordan, as per racingnews365.com.
"I am telling you I believe that if there is not a place in Red Bull for him, he will join Fernando in Aston Martin - that's what I believe.
"I have no real hardcore evidence but it's a gut feeling and very often my gut feel is a bit different to other people'. It does sound nice, it's very romantic isn't it?"
But Jordan added that in a world where the Red Bull juggernaut is forced to replace either Max Verstappen or Sergio Perez, Sainz could be the one to full the void.
"Please remember, he started off in Toro Rosso," added the Irishman.
"If Red Bull were to lose somebody like Max or want to replace Perez, you have to say that Carlos would be one of the key people."
