UFC Fight Night tips: Andrea Lee eyes rankings boost as she takes on young gun Maycee Barber
Rankings are at stake in this women’s flyweight contest as Andrea “KGB” Lee takes on Maycee “The Future” Barber.
Texas native Lee is an experienced veteran on the women's MMA scene. Since her debut in 2014, Lee has fought top contenders throughout her career and that doesn't look like changing when she faces Barber.
A decision loss to Viviane Araujo snapped her two fight win streak - a run which saw her defeat Cynthia Calvillo and Antonina Shevchenko by second round stoppages.
Barber entered the UFC with a bang. At 19 years old and fresh off a stoppage victory on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, Barber announced she had plans on breaking Jon Jones' record of being the youngest champion in UFC history.
Aged 24 now, that record is safe with Jones, but Barber is still a young gun with plenty of skills and stoppage victories over Hannah Cifers, JJ Aldrich and Gillian Robertson on her resume.
Lee has never been finished and is a veteran of women's MMA, while Barber is a young upstart with skills but room to grow.
In a sport where the young often eat the old, it's the toughness of Lee that gives her the edge ahead of this weekend's contenst.
