UFC Vegas 57: Umar Nurmagomedov hype train continues with victory over Nate Maness

Umar Nurmagomedov

Umar Nurmagomedov showcased his talents as he delivered a stunning performance to beat Nate Maness at UFC Vegas 57.

Nurmagomedov - cousin of undefeated, retired lightweight world champion Khabib - demonstrated his impressive wrestling and ground game once again to extend his record to 4-0 in the UFC.

This time, however, he went the full distance with the judges scoring it 30-25, 30-26 an 30-27. His overall MMA record is now 15-0 and after the fight, Nurmagomedov said he was ready to break into the bantamweight world rankings.

"He's a tough guy but I'm happy I win," Nurmagomedov said. "I think next or after next [fight], I'm going to be in the top 10. After we will see. I am ready. Even if they say tomorrow I'm going to fight for the belt, I'm ready."

The main event at the Apex saw a thrilling clash between Mateusz Gamrot and Arman Tsarukyan.
The two fighters - who entered the contest outside of the top 10 rankings - highlighted the strength of the lightweight division with great striking, grappling and wrestling.
Gamrot emerged victorious in the all-action fight, winning the final three rounds on all three scorecards to earn a unanimous decision win.
"It was a very tough fight," Gamrot said. "That was high-level MMA."
"Now I want to fight with Justin Gaethje.
"Justin Gaethje is the most brutal guy in the division and so I want to fight him next."
