UFC Fight Night Las Vegas tips: Jeremiah Wells and Matthew Semelsberger are a banker for bonuses
Jeremiah Wells faces Matthew Semelsberger in Las Vegas this weekend, with both welterweight division prospects looking to make a name for themselves. Check out our preview, stats and suggested bets.
A crowded welterweight division has two prospects making a name for themselves to open the main card as Jeremiah Wells takes on Matthew Semelsberger.
Wells may have come in as a short notice star, but he is just as clinical with a camp, as he finished all three of his UFC opponents in sensational style.
This fight with Semelsberger is crucial for Wells, at 36 years old his time to shine is running out so if he is to make a run at the title, he cannot afford any mistakes.
Semelsberger is a warrior and guaranteed action fighter; however, his UFC fights have had extreme contrasts.
All of his UFC fights bar two have been wars that have requires the judges to decide the victor, however the two fights that didn't go to decision ended at 15 and 16 seconds of the first round.
Therefore, it is fair to say if you can last 20 seconds against "Semi the Jedi" then you can last 15 minutes.
Semelsberger's defeat to Khaos Williams is a good marker for this fight, Williams and Wells both have sensational one punch knockout power and underrated wrestling so if Wells can imitate Williams, he should be able to overcome Semelsberger.
Having said that, Wells hasn't been to a decision since a loss to Vinicius de Jesus back in 2019, so if he doesn't finish Semelsberger early, he must ensure his cardio is up to scratch and be prepared for a three round war to secure a victory.
