UFC Fight Night 229: Full card as Bobby Green determined to put on a show with ‘boring’ Grant Dawson

Green ended his run of three winless fights last July when he defeated Tony Ferguson at UFC 291.

The 37-year-old will now be looking to record back-to-back victories for the first time since February 2022 when he squares off with Dawson.

The 29-year-old American boasts an impressive 20-1-1 professional record and is yet to taste defeat in the UFC.

Despite his impressive record, Green isn’t entirely sold on Dawson’s style.

He told the media, as quoted by MMA Junkie: “I didn’t even know who that guy was.

“I never even heard of him. And that goes to his body of work. I think the issue is that like, he’s been kind of boring, you know? And he’s been in the Apex fighting. But had he been around these crowds, he’d already feel the pressure from the crowd. They would let him know we don’t really like to see what you’re doing.

“Even though sometimes he got some finishes, so it’s like, ‘Cool, yeah.’ But it’s a snorefest. So it’s going to be a real test for me is to more so make a boring guy exciting. That’s the real fight.”
