PFL Europe: Who is women’s flyweight star Dakota Ditcheva?
Kayla Harrison may be the current face of the PFL women’s roster, but its British Muay Thai starlet Dakota Ditcheva who looks to take over and become queen of the women’s flyweight division.
Manchester's Ditcheva made her professional debut in 2021 and quickly announced herself as a force to be reckoned with, scoring first round knockouts in her opening three bouts.
A further two wins and more cage experience brought "Dangerous" Dakota to the attention of the PFL, and within five months of her UAE Warriors 28 win she made her debut for the organisation.
A much-anticipated PFL debut ended in dramatic fashion, as a sickening knee to the liver sent Moroccan opponent Hassna Gaber to the canvas, ending the fight at 58 seconds of round one.
Her sophomore outing came just three months later, taking on Katherine Corogenes at the PFL Championships in New York. Ditcheva dominated to win the fight by another first round knockout.
Much like compatriot Simeon Powell, Ditcheva looked to be a shoe in for the PFL regular season, but an opportunity to compete in front of fans in Europe was too good to turn down.
Now competing in the PFL European Series, Ditcheva is the favourite to win the tournament and secure the $100,000 first prize, announcing herself into the PFL regular season with a bang.
Her rise to stardom appears to have been anticipated by the PFL, with no women's lightweight tournament in the regular season, Kayla Harrison's loss appears to Ditcheva's gain as she will be given center stage to show off her skills and stand tall as the face of the PFL women's flyweight division.
Ditcheva takes on Sweden's Malin Hermansson in the co-main event of PFL Europe 1 live from Newcastle on Saturday March 25th.
