KSW 94: Ex Chelsea goalkeeper Ricardo Prasel dropped with vicious uppercut

Ricardo Prasel

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Riacrdo Prasel endured a TKO defeat at KSW 94 after eating a vicious uppercut from Stefan Vojcak.

As a teenager, Prasel was one of the most promising goalkeeping talents in Brazilian football – so much so, he was brought over to Chelsea during Jose Mourinho’s tenure.

The shot stopper played as understudy to Blues legend Petr Cech and Henrique Hilario.

Despite not getting much action for the Premier League side, the Brazilian spent a lot of time after training sessions working with Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba.

After suffering a hip issue, Prasel switched to MMA and even came close to signing with world leading promotion, UFC.

The heavyweight has been able to forge a successful career in the sport and has become a serious player with Polish organisation KSW.

After winning his first two bouts with the company, Prasel challenged KSW’s longest reigning champion Phil De Fries for the belt in late 2022.

Unfortunately for the Brazilian contender, it was the Brit who came out on top with a first-round submission victory.

Prasel returned to the cage on Saturday against Slovakian fighter Stefan Vojcak at the much-hyped KSW 94 event.

During the bout, Prasel endured a shoulder injury and appeared to have a lot of discomfort.

Vojcak capitalised as he landed a sweet right uppercut on the Brazilian to send him to the canvas and pick up the TKO victory.
