‘Francis Ngannou, I’m waiting for you’ – New PFL heavyweight champion calls out ex-UFC star
Renan Ferreira called out Francis Ngannou after becoming the PFL heavyweight champion on Friday night.
The 34-year-old took out Denis Goltsov in the second round to win the PFL’s $1m prize and claim the heavyweight belt.
The Brazilian, who enjoyed first round stoppages over Maurice Greene and Matheus Scheffel on his way to the final, improved his record to 12-3 before laying out the challenge to Ngannou.
“I’m the new PFL heavyweight champion,” said Ferreira in his post-fight interview. “Francis, I’m here. I’m waiting for you. Let’s make this fight happen.”

Since leaving the UFC, Ngannou turned his focus to boxing and produced one of the greatest professional debuts in history.
The Cameroonian-French fighter went the full 10 rounds with lineal champion Tyson Fury and even dropped the Brit in the third.
Ngannou is yet to reveal whether his next fight will take place in a boxing ring or a cage, though the fact he signed a deal with the PFL would indicate he isn’t quite done with MMA.
The 37-year-old is part of the PFL’s Super Fight Division which also includes Jake Paul, Kayla Harrison and Amanda Serrano.
