Dustin Poirier's next UFC bout revealed by fighter's agent

Poirier

It's been eight months since Dustin Poirier last stepped foot inside the octagon, but according to his agent it won't be long before his next match-up.

Dustin Poirier's been out of action in the UFC for eight months now, with his last appearance ending in defeat last December to Charles Oliveira at UFC 269.
But while 'The Diamond' has been starved of action, it's not for his lack of trying.
Poirier has frequently tried to make fights in recent months, with the 33-year-old calling out Nate Diaz only for that fight to fall through.
But while the wait goes on for Poirier to name his next opponent, his agent has teased that an agreement might be close.
Poirier's representation, Tiki Ghosn, provided an insight into Poirier's next fight on Tuesday:
"Looks like it's going to be Michael Chandler," Ghosn said on Poirier's possible next opponent.
"Sounds like he wants the smoke and Dustin is going to give it to him."
If the Poirier/Chandler fight becomes official, the winner could potentially earn another title shot against the Oliveira/Makhachev victor.
Poirier has twice been a UFC lightweight title challenger, but he'll want one more shot at the belt before hanging up his gloves for good.
