Cage Warriors 159: Trevin Jones heads to San Diego for first fight since UFC departure
Trevin Jones returns to action for the first time since his UFC exit as he takes on Brazilian veteran Wilson Reis this Friday night in San Diego, USA.
The 33-year-old fought out his contract with the UFC last March, losing to former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt in his final outing for the organisation.
Jones has suffered four straight defeats, with his last victory coming in March 2021 against Mario Bautista.
The American southpaw is now preparing to make his Cage Warriors debut – one which will come against another UFC alumni in the form of Wilson Reis.
The Brazilian had 13 fights with Dana White’s promotion, including a losing effort for the flyweight championship against Demetrious Johnson back in 2017.
Reis is unbeaten in his four outings with Cage Warriors and picked up a submission victory over Johnny Campbell last March.
Elsewhere, Roberto Hernandez will be looking to defend and improve his seven-fight win streak when he takes on Toby Misech.
Hernandez has already enjoyed two victories this year, picking up a split decision against John De Jesus before beating Moses Diaz on points.
Misech, on the other hand, returns to MMA action for the first time in 15 months.
The 35-year-old took on Georgii Eivas back in June 2022 where he picked up a victory via a first-round disqualification.
Since then, Misech has tried his hand at bare knuckle boxing, including a losing effort against Julio Tanori back in November.
