Wolverhampton best bets (1930): Thoughtful Gift and Masterpainter offer each-way hope in wide-open contest
With four places widely available for this wide-open 12-runner handicap, Tipstrr’s each-way aficionados have come out in force and have gravitated towards a couple of tasty-looking outsiders,

Early favourite by a country mile is Anthony McCann’s Irish raider, Little Empire, who won on the all-weather in April, and lines up here very fresh from his turf success at Ayr on Monday.

Whether he makes the start just one day later under a five-pound penalty remains to be seen, but regardless of his presence or absence, the remaining places are very much up for grabs among the other 11 starters.
Course-and-distance winner Odd Socks Havana could be a threat if able to shrug off his most recent turf outing, while Billy McGarry will bring high hopes of completing a hat-trick after recent successes at Southwell and over this course and distance three weeks ago.
Catching the discerning eye of Tipstrr’s each-way collective, however, is the Jack Jones-trained Thoughtful Gift, who has been in solid form since the turn of the year.
Suggested each-way bet (1): Thoughtful Gift in the 19:30 at Wolverhampton
Eight outings thus far in 2024 have only seen this five-year-old finish once outside the frame, and after enjoying back-to-back all-weather wins in February, he returned from a two-month break to complete an impressive hat-trick on his season turf debut at Brighton,
Less effective in a couple of subsequent outings on unsuitably soft ground, he looked more at home on his last-time-out return to Lingfield’s synthetic surface, where he finished a decent runner-up of 12 despite being poorly placed.

Another candidate tipped to make an under-the-radar assault is Michael Dods’ underachieving Masterpainter, who is looking to halt an 11-race barren streak that stretches back to his maiden success at Thirsk in September 2022.
He has suffered a couple of near misses so far this year, including a close-up second behind short-priced favourite Pallas Lord on his penultimate outing at Newcastle in February.
Seventh of 12 at the same venue last time out, Masterpainter was given a three-month break to freshen him up, and if tuned up as expected he can make his presence felt in this slightly lower 0-60 company.
Connor Beasley is entrusted with the reins, and after landing six winners from 18 rides since Friday, this in-form jockey looks very capable of bringing the best out of his charge here.
Suggested each-way bet (2): Masterpainter in the 19:30 at Wolverhampton
