Salisbury each-way tip: Voltaic to make the frame

Salisbury racecourse

The opening contest of Wednesday's evening meeting at Salisbury sees 13 come to post and the Tipstrr camp are excited about the prospect of each-way profit.

18:00 Salisbury: Highclere Castle Horse Feeds "Carnarvon" Amateur Jockeys' Handicap (Class 6) (7 furlongs)

Lady Wingalong is looking to end a run of seconds and comes into this one as the market leader.

She has finished second in her last three outings and will be looking to reclaim the winning touch that has evaded her since a success over this distance at Lingfield back in April.

While she is in good form, the Tipstrr camp are on the hunt for an each-way contender and at odds of 9/4 Lady Wingalong won't offer punters much chance of profit if she places.

Gilt Edge has two wins in her last three and the bay mare is worth a look at odds of 12/1.

Those victories were at Chepstow and Lingfield, both over this same distance, while she also picked up a place at Brighton in her season opener.

Another one who has each-way potential is Essme, who has four top three finishes in her last six, but the Tipstrr camp have their collective eye fixed on one of her rivals.

Voltaic has plenty of backing from Tipstrr's each-way experts and Tony Carroll's gelding has been in good form in recent weeks.

Despite a tough run at Sandown last time out where he finished eighth of nine, he had a comfortable victory at Leicester two starts ago and narrowly won at Brighton the start before that.

Carroll's yard have enjoyed a good year with 13% of his runners winning in 2024, while 32 percent of his runnners have finished in the first three.

While his odds are just 11/2, an each-way bet would net you a slight profit so it's still worth the punt.

Suggested best bet: Voltaic each-way in the 18:00 at Salisbury
