Pontefract racing tip: David Egan to lead Alreet Cha to victory
Our good friends at Tipstrr have been attracted to this competitive handicap at Pontefract, the final race of the meeting.
18:45 Pontefract- Sky Bet Acca Freeze Fillies' Handicap (six furlongs)
A trio of three-year-olds are leading the betting for this race and the early favourite is the aptly named Winning Point.
She well and truly lived up to her name last time out at Lingfield, where she triumphed on the all-weather.
Back on the turf for this one, it will be interesting to see how she gets on as she struggled on turf debut at Haydock in June.
A Girl Named Ivy won over this course and distance last time out off a starting price of 33/1 in a higher quality Class 4 contest, so that makes her one to watch here with her odds of 7/1 promising good value.
However, the Tipstrr camp are opting for Craig Lidster's Alreet Cha and she has put in some good performances recently.
She had a trio of seconds over the all-weather at the start of the year and she has improved on turf throughout the season.
She had a couple of disappointing runs at the start of the season however on her return from wind surgery at Yarmouth last time out she was fourth of 14.
With improvement expected, a place could be in the offing and the presence of experienced jockey David Egan could swing it.
Egan's rides have frequently found the first three, with 32 percent of this year's runners landing a spot in the top trio and his recent form has been good too with wins at Newbury and Newmarket over the last couple of days.
At odds of 15/2, Alreet Cha is worth an each-way bet and could upset the applecart here.
Suggested bet: Alreet Cha in the 18:45 at Pontefract
