Southwell best bet: Willowbank to defy the odds
Our good friends at Tipstrr have been looking at today's racing action and have picked the final race at Southwell as one of their highlights of the afternoon.
17:25 Southwell Coopers Marquees Handicap (Div II) (six furlongs)
Charlie Wallis' Due Date is the early market leader and has been in good form recently, the gelding has three frame finishes in his last five.
One of them was a win at Wolverhampton and he will be pleased to be back on the all-weather after a disappointing run on turf at Lingfield last time out.
His all-weather record is good with all seven of his top three finishes coming on this style of track.
He will be tough to beat, but our friends at Tipstrr have opted for each-way prospects.
Glory Call is worth keeping an eye on, Ollie Pears' gelding ended a run of inconsistent results last time out with a victory at Wolverhampton and at odds of 13/2 he may be worth an each-way flutter.
The Tipstrr camp have opted with Willowbank, who boasts each-way credentials.
Charlie Fellowes' charge looks promising and has been improving in recent times.
Last time out the filly was fourth of 11 at Yarmouth with a starting price of 25/1 and she also have previous experience of placing on the all-weather with a second at Kempton back in October 2023 and a third at Lingfield in June.
Jockey Mikkel Mortensen has also enjoyed some success recently with a victory at Lingfield and a second at Brighton both coming in the past two weeks.
If she continues to improve as expected, she will be good value at 11/2 and with three places on offer there's a very good chance of netting a return.
Suggested best bet: Willowbank each-way in the 17:25 at Southwell
