NORWOODS (2) finished 7 lengths back in eighth over 1m1f at Caulfield Heath last time out after a gutsy win the start prior. Drawn to enjoy a nice run just off the lead. Expected to be in the finish. ESKIMO (1) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m at Moonee Valley, beaten 7 lengths into ninth. Faces an easier assignment so he is a major player. FORT WILLIAM (10) was always well out of his ground when 2.5 lengths from the winner in fifth over 7½f at this track last start, a less impressive effort than his fourth at Mornington the run before. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is right in contention. ARMALITE (3) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 5.5 lengths away in 11th over 7½f at Mornington. Well placed to bounce back.
