KOWHAI (6) did little and finished 3 lengths from the winner in seventh over 1m2 1/4f at Mornington last start, a less impressive effort than her when resuming fifth at Seymour the run before. Finds a nice race and can play a significant role. THE BALLET DANCER (10) finished out of the money two starts back then she was always well out of her ground and was beaten 7 lengths when sixth over 7½f at Moonee Valley two weeks ago. Has the class to put the recent run of form behind her. THE OLD LION (7) got well back over 1m2f at Mornington last time and never threatened, eventually finishing 28 lengths away in eighth. Finds a more suitable contest and can take this out. MON ETOILE (8) finished second last start over 1m1f at Dunkeld, beaten a nose. Will strip fitter this time. Nicely placed to play a role in the finish.
