SPIRIT BEAR (4) improved sharply on her sixth two starts back at this track with a win as favourite over 7f at this track five weeks ago, getting home by 3.5 lengths after being in contention on the corner. Needs to be at her best to beat this field but she deserves plenty of thought. KANTBACKOFF (9) finished sixth over 7f at this track at her most recent appearance on July 11. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
