SPELLCHECK (6) fought on well to finish second last start over 6f at this track, beaten 0.8 lengths when fresh from a lay-off. Finds an easier assignment and can get the job done. POPPY'S JOY (1) finished out of the money when fresh from a lay-off two starts back then she was never in contention and was beaten 4 lengths when ninth over 1m at Santa Anita seven weeks ago. Stepping up a level this time but on her best form she is one of the chief contenders. PRINCESS JADE (3) could only manage to finish fifth, beaten 4 lengths, at her latest appearance over 6½f at this track. Well placed on this occasion and is a likely improver.
