Backmarker who gets home hard. One of the leading chances. VERDEJO (2) knuckled down strongly to get within 0.4 lengths of the winner in third last start over 5f at this track. Settles back early but winds up late. Will prove tough to beat. Fitter and deserves another chance. LUZ DE LA LUNA (10) was out of the money two runs back when fresh from a lay-off then again missed the frame last start over 5f at this track, beaten 1.4 lengths into sixth. Better than recent efforts suggest.
