Group 3 placegetter COOL KISS (13) turned in a sound effort last time but found one better at this track over 1m1/2f, beaten a nose. Should be at his peak now. Luis Contreras sticks. Best form puts him right in this. Group 3 placegetter ON THIN ICE (12) knuckled down strongly to get within 0.9 lengths of the winner in third last start over 1m1/2f at this track when fresh from a break. Has a decent record at this trip with three minor placings from four tries and should be in the finish. GRANDSON (5) did a great job to score by one length over this course and distance when when resuming from a lay-off last time out. Finds another suitable race and can play a major role again. Well placed to turn things around.
