MAGIC TOMAHAWK (1) showed little early speed last start and failed to come on in the straight when sixth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 5f at this track. This is a nice drop in grade so he is a major player. CONFUSING (3) last appeared when he finished fourth over 5½f at this track on December 17. Has switched to the Angus Buntain stable. Strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. JMR SPEEDY ESCAPE (9) could only manage sixth when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 5f at this track, beaten only one length after being in the firing line on the bend. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. SMALL TALK (7) finished sixth over 7f at this track at his most recent appearance on November 11. Looks a strong top-three prospect.
