FIRE STAR (12) built on a nice third two starts back at Canterbury with a win over 5½f at this track nine days ago, getting home by 2.75 lengths. Nicely placed to go back-to-back. MIDNIGHT OPAL (8) finished off last campaign with a 11th at Scone and has been gelded during the break. Will strip fitter for a trial win. Bold showing expected. VICTORY LANE (7) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when fourth, beaten 1.75 lengths, over 6½f at Rosehill after he settled well back. Has further improvement to come and looks the main danger. RAVENCLAW (10) was in a different class last time, sitting just off the speed before letting down impressively for a 3 length win at Rosehill over 6f. James Mcdonald who has two wins when partnering stays on. Deserves respect.
