KARATE KID (1) recorded a strong maiden win over 5f at Turffontein Standside last time, getting there by 1.5 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Shaping up nicely and he is likely to feature in the finish again. JOHNNY APPLESEED (3) turned in a fine effort to score by 1.3 lengths at this track and distance when when resuming from a lay-off last time out. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. BLAZE A WAY (5) is back from a lay-off of nine weeks. Closed last prep as a winner, taking out a 5½f contest at this track by 0.8 lengths. Strong top-three chance. AXEL COLLINS (6) has been out of the winner's list for a long time, last start finishing sixth at this track over 5f. Good enough on his day and can fill a top-three spot.
