CONFEDERATE (2) recorded a strong maiden win over 1m at Turffontein Standside last time, getting there by 2.75 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Shaping up nicely and he looks certain to measure up again. SHINTO SHRINE (4) was prominent from the outset when second over 7½f at Vaal last time out. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Best form puts him right in this. GOLDEN PAVILION (5) met with solid support last start over 7¼f at this track when third, beaten 6 lengths. Well-placed to make amends. DIWALI ROCKET (3) looks to kick off this prep the way he ended the last nine weeks ago when he scored over 1m at Turffontein Standside. Has a win and one placing at this journey from three starts. One of the main contenders.
