Golden Horse Sprint winner LUCKY LAD (1) had been in great form winning two on end before missing the frame last time when 11th over 1m in the G1 Gold Challenge at Greyville. Drops back in journey this time. Form this track is hard to knock with four wins from six starts. Leading contender. Group 3 winner CLIFF HANGER (5) is a distance specialist who missed the placings two starts back when resuming then ran a better race and finished 5 lengths away in fifth last time out over 7¼f at Turffontein Inside. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. POWER BROKER (7) resumed three weeks ago over 5¾f at this track and was only beaten 0.9 lengths into fourth. Has a solid second up record. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time. SILENT WAR (8) was well fancied when resuming last start and proved too strong, scoring by a neck over 5¾f at this track.
